one of those auxilaries is mix b only so you park a reverb there for foldback purposes. when you need more foldback options then take feeds from the 12 aux busses. you can feed the artist mix b while mixing on mix A allowing you to produce the song in real time. 2 band eq wit h2 sets of filters that can be split between mix a and mix b You've got 2 sets of control room monitors you can flick between, 10 aux busses, 4 stereo returns, inserts on every channel and group and with each channel being able to be split to allow 2 signals a 32 channel board is effectively able to run as 90+ something channels. using the 2 track return avoids all of that gear.
if you do a mix and have a bunch of outboard strapped across each channel and buss you do not want to playback your mix going through all of this gear. the reason you use this return buss is because it bypasses the channels and groups. you could hook up your dedicated recorder to playback on return A and hook up your cd player to playback on return b. The play back of that machine gets patched in the 2 track return.
from memory there is an a and b options here for more than one machine. I mix into a dsd recorder so it gets parked on the 2 track send.
like a reel 2 reel or a dsd player then you patch that in there. if you want to mix into a standalone 2 track device. There are also master buss 2 track send and returns. there are jumpers inside the ghost that can also effect metering etc. The ghost also has switching so you can send the channel tape sends to the groups which would be used if you had an 8 track reel to reel. That gave me options to combine mics to one channel and track stereo signals. group 1-4 tape send to lynx input ch13-16.
Plus I connected the group tape sends up so I had 2 stereo busses going to the converters. So ghost channel 1-12 tape send to lynx input ch1-12 I hooked my converters up to the tape send return jacks like a reel to reel would be connected. each channel has, insert send/return, tape send, tape return, line in, mic in and mix b in. The console is a split console so you have plenty of flexibility. for the consoles without a meter bridge, from memory, flicking the channel pfl allows you to meter the channel on the buss meters. it has a meter bridge so every channel has metering. Its performance alone puts Ghost into a different league from other consoles of similar price.įor product availability and pricing please contact your local dealer.I use a CAL fully modified ghost. No compromises.Īn all-new mic preamp, ProMic, has been developed just for Ghost. The EQ, for instance, is directly comparable to that of the classic Soundcraft 3200 and Europa consoles. Simply put, Ghost is the only desk that delivers the audio precision, quality and all the control features of a big studio desk without the usual prohibitive price ticket. It’s a big task for a mixer to keep in touch with all of that - which is why Soundcraft created Ghost, the ultimate affordable analogue recording console. At the same time, mixing has become less a process that takes place at the console alone, and more one that involves outboard effects, samplers, and synchronisation of audio and video recorders. Designing good audio mixers has never been easy - but with the widespread use of ultra-quiet digital recorders, and improvements all through the live and studio audio chain, today’s mixers have to stand up to closer sonic scrutiny than ever before.
